Xiaomi recently pointed out that it will be halting MIUI 11 Developer ROM updates by next week. This news began fuelling speculations that the company was planning to commence MIUI 12 development. To this end, the Chinese giant started rolling out the MIUI 11 beta 20.3.25 update which that is expected to be the last MIUI 11 beta update ever.mi 10 global
Interestingly, the Mi 10 Pro and Mi MIX 2S models enrolled on the Developer program were absent from the models getting the weekly MIUI beta update. Thus, the two models didn’t get the latest MIUI 11 beta 20.3.25 update.
Xiaomi has now come out to clarify why the update wasn’t pushed to the two flagship models. The Chinese company stated in a Weibo post that the MIUI developers had issues with the compilation of the latest beta package for the duo, hence the suspension of the rollout. It is expected that the update will be pushed in no distant time.
MIUI 12 may not be announced until the second half of 2020, but the MIUI team is expected to start internal testing followed by closed beta and then open beta in the coming weeks. The update is expected to still be based on Android 10 in Xiaomi’s usual pattern while some models released later in the year will run MIUI 12 based on Android 11. Sadly, Xiaomi has not been swift in pushing the latest Android update and that isn’t expected to change any time soon.
