Xiaomi is all set to release its new smartphone as a part of the Mi 10 lineup, dubbed as Mi 10 Youth Edition on 27th April. The company has as well sent out media invites in China featuring a Doraemon Mini-Claw machine.

Now, days ahead of the official launch, the company teased the camera module as well as the features of the upcoming Mi 10 Youth Edition smartphone through a promotional poster and a mini promo video.

The phone will feature a quad camera setup where the sensors will be placed on a rectangular module, which will be in the top-left corner. The company has revealed that the structure consists of a high-definition primary camera, a wide-angle lens, a macro lens, and a 50x superzoom periscope sensor.

The highlight of the camera setup is the usage of a pro-level 50x periscope zoom camera, which offers 5x optical-zoom, 10x hybrid zoom, and up to 50x ultra-far zoom. The company is however focusing on the camera department for the Mi 10 Youth Edition as Xiaomi believes that mobile phone camera has become a social tool for the younger people to take photos or record videos, create vlogs, and more.

So far, the company has confirmed that the smartphone will have a thickness of 8mm and will weigh about 200 grams. Xiaomi has also confirmed that the 5G smartphone will come in at least four colour options — Pink Peach, Orange Storm, Green Tea and Blue Berry.

The specifications of the smartphone remain under wraps, but we expect the company to tease some key features ahead of the launch. While the device is set to get launched in China on 27th April, it is already up for reservations.

The company already has launched the Mi 10 Lite smartphone in Europe, and the upcoming Mi 10 Youth Edition for the Chinese market could be quite similar in terms of key specifications. The phone is also expected to come powered by Snapdragon 765G SoC and 22.5W rapid fast charging support.

Also, apart from the launch of Mi 10 Youth Edition, Xiaomi will be unveiling the newer version of its MIUI custom user interface — MIUI 12.
