Last year, Oppo introduced the Reno series of smartphones, which included both mid-range and high-end models. Now, the company has decided to spin-off the high-end Reno Ace phone to be a series of its own by splitting it from Reno branding. Brian Shen Yiren, the company’s Vice President who is also the President of Global Marketing, officially announced it on his Weibo profile. The upcoming Oppo Ace 2 is expected to be the first phone under this newly formed series.
In an open letter to fans of Oppo Reno Ace, Mr. Shen Yiren said that this phone was a tremendous success among both customers and the company. The Reno Ace was targeted at gamers with a 90Hz refresh display, 65W SuperVOOC fast charging, and high-end performance.
With over 20,000+ feedbacks from the users, the company has managed to fulfill 90% of them. Now, Oppo is taking the Reno Ace to the next level by making it a separate series to concentrate even more on it to deliver what the customers need. That means, it will shed off the Reno branding and will be simply called Ace.
Hence, Oppo now has three primary series of smartphones, namely Find, Reno, and Ace, in addition to budget A series.

Once again, OPPO looks to disrupt the Nigerian-market with the world’s first phone to feature a 44 megapixel dual hole-punch camera setup. The company’s new teaser video as well gives us a good look at the upcoming phone’s quad rear camera setup, including the curved glass rear panels.
To recall that the Chinese variant of the OPPO Reno3 series was released back in December, but it only had a single front punch hole camera. Another difference between the Chinese and Nigerian version/mode will be the design and display variation in terms of the curves. The Nigerian version will inclusively be 4G, as opposed to the 5G version released in China. This is expected, as Nigeria does not currently support 5G capabilities. We hope that the OPPO Nigeria will be providing smartphones with specifications Nigerians need while ensuring that the prices are very much affordable to individuals who have an interest.
Some other leaks we have will be a 4025mAh Battery Capacity, 8GB RAM, with 256GB storage memory. We also gather that two colours will be launched, i.e. Auroral Blue and Midnight Black, to cater to different design tastes.
Considering that Nigeria is a price sensitive market, we predict that the Reno3 will as well be launched here. The good thing is that the Reno3, together with the Reno3 Pro is quite similar with just a few features like the OLED waterdrop 44MP Ultra -Night Selfie Camera, 48MP Quad Camera which supports 5x Hybrid Zooms capabilities, 5V41 VOOC 3.0 Charging -System, phone design/colours differentiating the Reno3.
