Xiaomi always keeps introducing the new features to MIUI ROM. In a similar move, the- MIUI developer has brought the Android 10 Gestures Control Function for all the compatible Xiaomi -smartphones. Xiaomi Developers have stood by their promises of bringing the Android 10 based gestures to the Xiaomi smartphone. However, the public build users also have to wait for the feature as it is now limited to select MIUI China ROMs. The company informed users of the new modification via a blog post, which also has clear instructions to enable it.
According to the announcement, Xiaomi is rolling out the Android 10 navigation gestures for select beta users in China who are a part of its MIUI China Beta Room initially. The company announced that since the feature is under testing, users might face some lag issues while using it. It further said that the Android 10 gestures would be made available in MIUI Global ROM soon. Users in India can expect the feature roll out along with the global rollout.
The option to activate Android 10 gestures will be found in display settings on MIUI 11. In order to activate gesture navigation, Xiaomi users need to go to Settings > Display > and select Full Screen Display to activate Android 10 gestures.
The gesture controls offer more screen space as they get rid of the navigation buttons on the bottom of the screen. Users can swipe up from the navigation bar on the bottom of the screen to reach the home page, Swipe left or right from the edge of the screen to go back, swipe up and hold to open current apps, and quickly switch between apps by swiping left or right on the navigation bars at the bottom.
MIUI 11 is the latest version of Xiaomi’s Android-based software, which will be followed by MIUI 12. Last month, the MIUI 12 roadmap was leaked on the Xiaomi forum, hinting that the next generation of Xiaomi’s software might be rolled out somewhere around September this year.
Xiaomi has ported only few gestures from Android 10. The users can now open the home screen by swiping up from the bottom of the display. Moreover, the Recents menu is available with Swipe up from the bottom of the screen and pause. The App switching is eased with Swipe left or right from the bottom of the screen.
