A report from the previous week had made claimed that Honor’s next X-series smartphone would be arriving as Honor -X10, and not Honor 10X as it was previously thought. Today, Honor President Zhao -Ming confirmed today that Honor 10X will be renamed to Honor X10, and it will, however, be arriving as a 5G ready smartphone.
Ming said that if the Honor-30S powered by the Kirin 820 5G -chipset has set off a wave of 5G popularity in China, the X series will set off a 5G storm. Each generation of Honor’s X-series have been well received in the home market as the company has managed to sell tens of millions of X monikered smartphones. Last week, the Chinese firm also confirmed that the sales of the Honor 9X has exceeded 10 million units in China.
While the rumour mill has claimed that the Honor decided to rename its upcoming X series phone as Honor X10 in order to prevent consumers from getting confused it with Redmi’s forth-coming Redmi 10X 4G phone, Ming did not share the exact reason behind renaming the products. Rumours surrounding the Honor X10 have claimed that it also could be featuring the Kirin 820 5G- chipset. It is speculated that Honor X10 is code-named as Teller. While the company is the mum on the existence of Honor X10-Pro, rumours have it that it could be powered by Kirin 985 chipset, and it could be coming soon.
The Honor X10-series is expected to get announced in May. It could, however, be priced under 2,000 Yuan (~$282). A tipster from China has also shared the key specs of the Honor X10. Readers are advised to disregard the leaked specs with a grant of salt as its authenticity could not be confirmed.
